If The Pitching team takes to long getting theball to the pitcher it will give you a bat powerup!!!!!

When your in the field and you get a pop fly press the space bar and if you can still see the blue dotfor where the ball was hit put your arrow on the dot and then press the space bar again and then click on the blue dot.

When you hit a pop fly tap escape 3 times. If you don't tap escape 3 times in three seconds it won't work.

When you look at pictures of players in thebackground, it will be different colors. Thesecolors are blue, orange, and green. When thebackground of a player is blue, that player isgoing to have a bad day. When the background of aplayer is orange, that player is going to have agreat day. When a player's background is green,that player is going to have an average day.

Hit a ball on bounce out of view in left or rightfield in fair territory in any stadium, and itwill be counted as a ground rule double.

Hit a ball on a fly out of view in left or rightfield in fair territory in any stadium, and itwill be counted as a homerun.

When the CPU hits the ball, click on first baseto field the ball and throw it to firstautomatically.

To get a special pitch, strike out a batter whenyou are pitching.

In order to get a special hit or bat, get adouble play in the field. A sound will confirmcorrect code entry. When you get up to bat youwill either have an Aluminum Power Bat, ScreamingLine Drive, Undergrounder, or Crazybunt.Another way to get a base hit off of a specialpitch thrown to you while you are batter. A noisewill confirm correct code entry.Another way to get a special hit is to use aregular bat, either power, line-drive, grounder,or bunt, and get either a single, double, triple,or home run safely. A sound will confirm correctcode entry.

CLick on Single Game window and click on pick-upor exhibition button. Then choose your field tobe Ekman Acres. On the team select screen choosebackyard team and make your uniform to be allpink. Finally when you check your strategy MariaLuna and Kimmy Ekman they should be powered-up.Let's Play Ball! Note: Kimmy will only be poweredup when you play in your home field.

First pick 'Amir Khan' then make him thepitcher. Pick a throwing style then quickly lookat 'Amir Khan.' If he shakes his head 'no' throwit in one of the corners, it will be a strike.If he nodes yes the batter might hit it.(note: work on saeson play too.)

To charge the catcher you have to tap B 4 times in 3 seconds.

For the best team do the following. First get tothe drafting part of season,thenpick thesepeople. Pablo,Barry Bonds,Ken Griffey Jr.,Kiesha, Derek Jeter,Achmed, Kenny Lofton, Nomar,and Peete (he is very fast).

In season mode go to new coach. When you're in thefield, pitch the ball on the upper inside oroutside corner and repeatingly press escape. Dothat 3 times when you face a batter and you willmost likely strike them out.

Create your own team and make their colors allpink. Pick Maria Luna to be on your team. Herbatting will be 10, running 10, pitching 9 andfielding

At a close up on Pablo Sanchez, hold down Shiftand Enter and click once on Pablo's picture.

While you are in the clubhouse hold down Shift andclick on the robot that is on the shelf. Mr.Clanky will be on the bench in single game modeand you can pick him to be on your team.

When you make your team put a good batter then abad batter and you can get a double run sometimes.

When you strike the other team out, you will here a sound and get a different pitch (Fireball, Big Freeze, Corkscrew, Spitball, etc). Each special pitch will make your juice go down.Sometimes you will get more juice instead of a special pitch.

When playing the CPU, get a person on first. If the computer hits a grounder, throw to second then first. If the play is turned correctly, you will hear a sound get either an Aluminum Power, Screaming Line Drive, Under Grounder, or Crazy Bunt.

Baseball is a hugely popular sport in many countries, including the USA and Japan. Here in the UK however, it never really caught on. In school, we play a similar game called “Rounders”, which is frankly a stupid name well worthy of ridicule. There have been lots of computer simulations of Baseball, but Backyard Baseball is specifically aimed at children. In the game, the player will need to pick and manage his or her team of neighborhood kids and take them up all the way to the Backyard Baseball World Series. The original game (which we’re covering here) was released in 1997 and went on to launch a successful series that’s still going strong today.

Installing and playing

The original Backyard Baseball is a 16 bit game which means it cannot run natively on more modern versions of Windows. You could install a Windows XP virtual machine and play the game there. Rather than doing that however, you may wish to use ScummVM instead. ScummVM is a special program that helps older adventure games to run. Now, you’re probably thinking “a baseball simulator doesn’t sound much like an adventure game”, but remember this is a children’s baseball game and so has a few similarities to a point and click adventure game. Because of this, it’s supported by ScummVM and easy to run on modern machines.

To run the game with ScummVM, simply copy the entire contents of the games CD-ROM to a convenient location on your PC, then point ScummVM to the folder. There’s a comprehensive tutorial here that takes you through all the steps in detail.

There are no CD audio tracks to copy, so once the CD is copied and ScummVM is configured and options set to taste, you’re good to go.
